Regulation of fee and cost (RTI)

Dear Sir,

Enclosed please find copy of GSR No. 336 E dt. 1.10.2005 regarding regulation of fee & cost under Right to Information Act 2005.

You are requested to display it at appropriate places for charging fees as under :

  1. Application fee of Rs. 10/- by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft or bankers cheque or Indian Postal Order payable to the Accounts Office of the Area/Establishment.
  2. For providing the information under sub-section (1) of Section 6 fees shall be charged by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft or bankers cheque or Indian Postal Order payable to the Accounts Office of the Area/Establishment
    1. Rs. 2/- (Rs.Two) for each in A-4 or A-3 size paper created or copies.
    2. Actual charges or cost price of a copy in larger size paper.
    3. Actual cost or price for samples or models and
    4. For inspection of records, no fee for the first hour and a fee of Rs. 5/- (Rs. Five) for each subsequent fifteen minutes (or fraction thereof.
  3. For information provided in diskette or floppy Rs. 50/- (Rs.Fifty ) per diskette or floppy.
  4. For information provided in printed form at the price fixed for such publication or Rs. 2/- per page of photocopy for extracts from the publication
  5. No fee is to be charged from persons who are below poverty line and such person should attach the proof thereof issued by the Competent Authority.
  6. Not withstanding anything contained in Sub Section (5) of Section 7 the person making request for the information shall be provided the information free of charge where a public authority fails to comply with the time limits specified in Sub Section (1) of Section 7 of RTI 2005
  7. The Fees to be charged for the first appeal under section 19(i) of R.T.I. Act, 2005 is Rs. 20/- each.

Also please find enclosed herewith a format (model Application form ) under Right to Information Act, 2005.

The above shall come into force with immediate effect.
